About Materials Futures

Materials Futures is a new open-access journal co-published by the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory (SLAB), IOP CAS and UK’s IOP Publishing house. It is dedicated to publishing cutting-edge research in the field of materials science and technology. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following: structural materials, energy materials, biomaterials, nanomaterials, quantum materials, and materials theory and computation. The journal provides a unique platform to promote basic and applied research and serves a diverse community of scientists from across the world. The editorial board of Materials Futures consists of over 90 internationally renowned researchers.

In order to give junior scholars a forum to communicate and exchange ideas, the editorial office is now recruiting “young” board members. Overall, this will provide early-career researchers with the opportunity to gain peer-review/editorial experience and stimulate collaborations with leading scientists. The number of recruits is about 30.

 

Qualifications

· PhD degree

· Strong background in materials science, with more than 15 peer-reviewed articles or at least 2 papers published in high-impact journals (IF > 10, as first and/or corresponding author)

· Actively involved in scientific processes

· Interest in academic publishing

Responsibilities

· Identify/organize Focus issues

· Commissioning of papers

· Assist in pre-screening and participate in the peer-review process

· Assist in organizing conferences, workshops, webinars etc.

· Proactively promote the journal at conferences, via social media etc.
